Why I Don’t Soak Off Nails Anymore
After 40 years in the nail industry, I’ve seen one thing stay the same—removal has almost always meant acetone.
Back when acrylic was at its peak, the recommendation was to soak everything off every six months to bring nails back to that fresh pink and bright white look.
And yes… that meant acetone.
The smell, the dryness—and if you had a candle nearby, you were taking a risk.

Then came gel polish, and suddenly we were removing it every 14 days.
Again… acetone. Wrapped, soaked, repeated.
